Kids
There are millions of Americans who are clever and fearless, but the trouble is they are only four years old. Children are amazing creatures which never seem to tire. Here for your carving pleasure is a collection including some of the most active of the species. You can "mouse over" the drawings for a little information about each of the projects. The spontaneity of children at play- fun to watch, fun to carve.
I had to add at least one teenager. She's at that
age where she has a bit of an attitude. Actually the
indifferent attitude of this pose could be used
several other ways as well. $3.00
"For you!" It doesn't matter that she dug them
out of Mama's prize garden, When it comes to
flowers for Mama, it's the thought that counts.
Here is another pattern where you can decide
the scene. Is he walking on a fence? a board?
stepping on rocks across a stream? This figure
can be used in any number of situations so let
your imagination run with it. $3.00
Mama taught her to share so her best friend
is enjoying some ice crean with her. The dog
is part of the pattern and is scaled to the figure
as seen here. $3.00
Are your children or grand-children into in-line
roller blade skating? Here's a project you can
carve for them. Most kids still appreciate hand
made things from Dad or Grandpa, especially
when it's something they can relate to.
$3.00
Want some S'mores? Have this lad roasting
marshmallows. Or he could be cooking hot dogs.
Or holding a fishing pole. Or... ??? You decide what
you would like to have him doing. $3.00
Do kids still play leap-frog? I haven't seen that
done in years. This is a two figure pattern and
you might give some thought to what you could
use either pose alone for to create other projects.
Always try to think beyond the obvious and you'll
be surprised how a little modification to a pattern
can lead to another project. $5.00
Riding the concrete wave has become a competitive
passtime for many young folk. Carve this skateboarder
for your young athelete. The pose will challenge your
carving skills but will be a real source of pride when
it is finished.
$3.00
Part of every Summer's fun has to be jumping rope.
Using a piece of stiff wire for the rope will allow
you to position her mid-jump as shown by several
examples on the pattern. $3.00
Did you ever pitch marbles? Well, girls are Rolley
Hole players too and some have been tournament
champions. Shorten her hair if you want to carve
a boy player. $3.00
It is his first catch and he's so surprised that he
forgot he's supposed to throw the ball. Carve this
one as a trophy for your Little Leaguer. A girl
version is included on the pattern
$3.00
She's the littlest angel. I remember when
my children took part in the Christmas plays
where Jesus was played by a 40 watt lightbulb
in a cradle... precious memories! $3.00
When I was growing up we had some
"interesting" dances but the kids
now-a-days... well, here's one for you
and there's no telling what this dance
might be
called. $3.00
