Note: Because of health issues we have had to put many of our travel plans on hold and Ol' Don is no longer holding workshops though we still hope to do some traveling. Ol' Don's classes are hands-on carving and often included lectures with handouts as part of the program,  Your finished carving will give you all the "braggin' rights" since Ol' Don doesn't believe in carving on a class participant's project.  After a brief introduction to the projects he spends class time walking around and around and around the table spending whatever time is necessary to share design ideas and carving techniques with each participant as they progress step-by-step through the project.

 Class participants are required to bring their own sharp hand tools and a pencil.  Time does not allow for painting in most workshop schedules but all students receive a handout explaining in detail Ol' Don's painting method.

Participants will work from a basswood roughout and carve the subject of their choice. Any of the subjects shown below can be carved in Ol' Don's workshops... the choice is yours.  Click here for MORE DETAILS about the various roughouts available by mail.
