The challenge and fun of telling a story with words that rhyme has been with Ol' Don since the 1950s when the cry of a pedal steel guitar and the wail of a country fiddle gave him the desire to share his rhymes through music. A few photos from the "good old days" can be seen on this page. A career in music wasn't meant to be but the rhymes continued and here you will find a few of his poems, most of which have wood carving as a theme.   Click on the title of the poem you would like to read.
